On July 29th, 2025, we finally said I do to the rest of our lives by each other’s side. We chose to embark on a beautiful relaxed morning ride in the mountains surrounding our hometown of Telluride, and mosey our way through the forest enjoying this special area’s natural beauty until we found the perfect spot. Departing from the Schmid Family Ranch, we rode on horseback with our dear friend Sawyer who went so above and beyond capturing the pure magic of an absolutely perfect day. Ultimately ending at a small homestead and seeing the backdrop of pines descending up to the amazing backdrop of Mt. Wilson, we knew we found “the spot”. Beers were cracked, clothes were taken off, and on the front porch of a 100 year old cabin, Mikaela put on her breathtaking wedding dress. After exchanging vows written to one another, our marriage was sealed with a kiss, lots of smiles, and an overwhelming feeling of having made one of the best choices in our lives! While we would have loved to have arranged a massive celebration, after 8 years adventuring together it didn’t feel entirely us, and we truly enjoyed every moment of our unforgettable elopement.
