We weren't looking for love but was God's plan that brought us together. Our love story began in El Salvador, back in 2015. We met at a mission trip that lasted a week, we didn't shared a word until the last official day trip. Was a rainy night, a two hour ride back to the Hotel and a long talk about each other lives. The next morning, after breakfast, Gerben asked Gabriela to keep in contact. Back then in the middle of that "farewell" somehow we were staring at the future. Our future, together. Since then God made a way for us and for our love.

Halfway through our long-distance relationship, we plan a trip to Florida to be together again. A road trip thru Florida, was a wonderful and fun experience for the two of us. Early in the morning on November 23rd, Gerben persuaded Gabriela to have a date before the trip ended. We spend the whole day with family and friends; but at night were finally at the seashore, just the two of us walking hand in hand at Naples seashore, later on we found to the pier, and walk down to it and the moon was so bright and our hearts racing to the fullest. While we were walking, in every step we saw all our prayers and dreams come true. God's perfect plan, Us, the pier, the beach, the moonlight. Gerben sweetely went down on one knee and asked to spend the rest of our lives together. - Gabriela said YES. So, God really surprised us with His plans for our lives together way more than we expected.

Yes it is, and of course has been a long road, a long distance, countless tears, lots of farewell kisses, a few airports, and a pandemic. But God’s faithfulness; the outpouring of love from our families and the support from our friends, has made this long waiting so much more bearable and kept us strong. We made it and here we are we found a date like we've always prayed! November 24, 2021. We are so excited to share this day with you! We are lokking forward to celebrate the night away with our loved ones. with love, Gerben and Gabriela.
