How We Met!

12/21/2017

Well.. do you want the fake story or the real one? LOL .. for the longest time we did not share our real story, because we were so embarrassed or thought people would criticize it. We remembered how awkward it was when people would ask us, "and how did you guys meet?"... I remembered how we would just stared at each other and lie almost simultaneously! All we would say was "we met through a mutual Cuban friend"... If we told you that story... sorry we lied!! The real story goes like this... We met at a dating gay app that has not the best reputation... we honestly think it is so funny to even talk about it now. There are no words to describe our chemistry and how we felt since the moment we met, it was just like magic!

The Engagement

07/22/2018

This was a hard one... no one knew I was planning to propose except my mother and best friends. Last year we traveled to Adrian's home town, Puerto Padre, Cuba. I had no idea how I was going to propose, so I tried to just go with the flow. My first thought was it was going to happen at the beach, but there was tooooo much going on so I decided to wait until the next day. Since it was Adrian's first time visiting Cuba since he had left four years prior, I tried to not ask him for much... all I wanted was to have a photo-shoot session. So we asked Adrian's best friend Yoamnys and his partner Ahmed to take pictures and video tape us at the Malecon in Puerto Padre. We walked to the Malecon, and I had that huge box in my back pocket... I was so worried that someone was going to notice the box and ask what that was... so I was trying to hide it all times. We started talking pictures and all the awkwardness started. I was so worried that he was going to touch or see the box I had, so I constantly would hold his hand down so he would not hug me. Obliviously, he noticed I was being "weird", but he went with it. Again, I had no idea at what exact moment the question was going to Pop! It was right there at the old peer in Puerto Padre that happened. I got on my knee and told Adrian what I felt for him and why I wanted to marry him (Even-though he doesn't remember a word of it). I don't think I ever being so nervous in my lifetime. Since he never said yes and he was just crying, I had to ask him "What does that mean? Yes or Not?" I just needed confirmation before giving him the ring!! LOL ...
