Things to Avoid
Hotels in Poughkeepsie or Dutchess county that require you to cross the Mid Hudson Bridge, bridge traffic can be unpredictable Hotels on the side of New Paltz closer to the Shawangunk Mountains or Mohonk Mountain House, traffic coming off the mountain in the fall is very congested and slow moving If you do choose to book in these areas just leave extra time for travel!
