When Georgie and Hans met in the summer of 2022, she heard the name Hans and thought she was about to jump into a conversation with a fellow Euro-turned-American.. boy was she wrong. Georgie and Hans both moved to Charlotte in 2021 and 2022 respectively and had no idea their paths would cross one day soon. Georgie worked at an accounting firm and Hans worked remotely in sales, both balancing social lives and staying active.. not knowing that, of all things, running would bring them together. One of Hans’ previous roommates from Washington DC, Joey, had a college friend living in Charlotte, Mitchell, who was running the same marathon as Hans in a few months, so Joey put them in touch. They met up at Sycamore Brewing Run Club one Wednesday night, where to Hans’ surprise, he ended up tangled in a conversation over bingo with a girl with an accent he couldn’t put a name to, from Switzerland of all places. Her name was Georgie of course!! The two drifted in and out of conversations on Wednesday night runs for a couple months before they decided to go for a run with just the two of them in the fall of 2022.. and as they say, the rest was history!
