Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, the dress code is Garden Party Attire: "Garden party attire is whimsical, dressy, and designed to be worn outdoors. It typically falls somewhere between a semi-formal dress code and cocktail attire, with breezy silhouettes and pastel colours that take inspiration from the surrounding blooms. This isn’t the time for dark hues or heavy fabrics! And since you’re dressing for an outdoor event, a garden party outfit should be just as comfortable as it is cute." Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited capacity at the venue, please do not bring any additional guests who have not been named on your invite.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

If you would like to bring your child/ren, please have a 1-to-1 conversation with us. Generally, this will be a child-friendly event, however there is limited capacity at the venue so we will have to bare this in mind when discussing any additional guests, including children.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony venue?

Answer

Please arrive promptly for a 2:30pm start. We recommend parking at one of the many car parks near the Registry Office by 2:00pm and heading to one of several nearby bars or cafes to relax before the ceremony begins!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

For the ceremony: There is plenty of nearby parking in Taunton Town Centre. As it is Bank Holiday Weekend, the car parks may be busy so we recommend trying Orchard Multi-Storey car park, or Wood Street car park (both within 5 minutes walking distance). For the reception: Parking will be extremely limited. Wherever possible, we ask that you car share or book a taxi (let us know if you would like recommendations!)

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

We will be contacting all guests ahead of the wedding to confirm food allergies/intolerances/preferences. These will be communicated with the caterer and there will be options for all guests.

What's the bar situation?

Answer

We will be operating a DIY bar at the Village Hall! We'll be starting the celebrations with a welcome drink of Pimm's and will be providing plenty of soft drinks, mixers, and some additional alcohol such as beers and ciders that you are welcome to help yourself to throughout the evening. If you have any drinks you would specifically like to enjoy, please feel welcome to bring these along!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the reception will take place both indoors and outdoors.

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence on our special day is gift enough, but we know that many of our guests have asked about a registry. We are registered at 'The Wedding Shop' and if you navigate to the registry on this site, you will be able to shop for gifts for us. We've created a short list of things we like, and would especially love donations to our honeymoon and house decorating funds! Thank you 💗
