Georgia was getting sick of the dating game, not finding anyone on the same level, so decided to download ol' Tinder one weekend. DAY 1 of swiping and my oh my she came across quite the looker (Joe), so decided to swipe right, and BOOM it was a match! They talked all day and night, right into the early hours of the morning. The next day they decided to go for a walk around the Hamilton Lake together and hit it off! While in the 'just talking' stage Georgia noticed on Tinder that they lived within a 1km radius away from each other. After discussing this they both realised they lived on the same street and had done so for quite a few months before Tinder brought them together. Then as they say, the rest is history!!

It was the 21st of October 2023, mid rugby word cup era, an overcast morning at the stunning Cooks Beach. Everyone but Georgia had gotten up for the day - she takes a little longer to get up. When she finally got up she noticed her Mum was missing. But not long later she popped up from behind the house - strange! Everyone was huddled around the small TV watching the start of the quarter finals. Mum was cooking an amazing hot breakfast for us all, to which Georgia became slightly suspicious. Mum kept reminding Joe that we NEEDED to go for a walk with the dogs on the beach. Unaware but also slightly sceptical that Joe would leave an All Blacks game part way through to take the dogs for a walk. Georgia was still keen so off they went with Madi and the dogs to the beach. Joe and Madi were running ahead over the dunes with Milo while Georgia was slightly behind with Millie (the slow doggo) and just as they reached the sand Joe turned around and reached into his pocket to pull out a box and bent down on one knee!! The dogs went nuts, Madi went nuts and Georgia couldn’t believe her eyes! Between all the chaos all Georgia remembers are the words “will you marry me?” “YES YES YES!!”. Joe then pulled out a basket from in the dunes, full of champagne, juice and fruits that Mum had sneakily hidden earlier that morning!
