Maid of Honor
Jana and I became immediate friends while I was volunteering on her thesis project back in 2014. Intertidal sampling at 3am really lets you get to truly know a person. We kept each other sane through graduate school where we were academic sisters. She has been my laugh and a glass of wine, my shoulder to cry on for four years, and is one of the most selfless people I have ever had the honor of calling my friend. One of the strongest, fearless, and independent women I know, Jana is always challenging me to be a better version of myself. This wedding also would not have come together without her, as she is 1,000x more organized than the bride.
Maid of Honor
I had the biggest friend-crush on Frankie from the moment we met in English 100 our freshman year of college. She is the kind of person you just really want to hang out with. I was so nervous to seem cool to her, I ended up coming across as a total snob! Luckily for me, Frankie is a literal angel who only sees the best in everyone she meets and we ended up becoming the best of friends. She is the carefree, outgoing extrovert that brought me out of my shell. She's a source of constant inspiration and joy. From raising skate babies to surviving insane houseboating trips, we have had so many amazing experiences together and I know I would be a much poorer person for not having Frankie in my life.
Bridesmaid
Kellie and I became best friends when we were in middle school, and have been lucky enough to stay close for more than 11 years. We both felt out of place at school, and were happiest with our noses buried in a book. We would get in trouble for talking during choir. We would daydream together during recess. I would stay at Kellie's house after school while my mom was at work, where we would watch Drop Dead Gorgeous for the 500th time. Or chase her father's goats through the pasture, or build a fort in the woods, or try and ride her stubborn quarter horse around the lawn. We had adventures entirely of our own making, and I'm so grateful to Kellie for being one of my oldest and most steadfast friends.
Bridesmaid
Where do I even begin with my bubbly, beautiful Sammie...My oldest friend, we first met in 1st grade at Black Butte Elementary almost two decades ago. Being in such a small town, you didn't have many potential friends to pick from. I hit the jackpot with Sammie as far as I'm concerned. We could spend hours giggling and chittering, often to the exasperation of our mothers. We grew up exploring the forests and lakes of Mt. Lassen together on camping trips. Sammie is and always has been this bright little ball of sunshine. She always has that infectious smile on her face. She is a caregiver and a fierce friend, and I would be so lucky to have another two decades with her in my life.
