Due to restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, our allowed capacity for the wedding ceremony and reception has been reduced. As the situation with the pandemic is continuously evolving, we encourage you to check back on our website regularly for any further updates. We would appreciate if you can let us know, no later than December 12th, if you can attend or not. We completely understand if you are unable to attend, especially given the current pandemic situation. Due to our capacity limitations, we will have to automatically RSVP you as Not Attending, if we do not hear from you by December 30th. Thank you for your understanding. Love, George & Roshni
It was the 2018 Convention and I (George) decided to sign up for an improv class. I figured some of my cousins would also sign up for the class. Unfortunately none of them did, so I went to the class alone. When I got there I gazed around the room to see if I recognized anybody. While gazing, something caught my eye. There was this cute girl sitting on the floor on her phone. Immediately I was trying to think of a way to try and talk to her. The class started and the first lesson involved a partner. So, when the instructor told us to find a partner I knew this was my chance and I gunned it straight for the cute girl that was on her phone. We introduced ourselves and she said her name was Roshni from Houston. Unfortunately, our conversation was cut short since the instructor kept making us switch partners. I planned on talking to her more after the class, but I lost track of time and my cousin was blowing up my phone looking for me since we were supposed to go to the Atlanta United game that afternoon. I guess I was the opposite of Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting! Luckily for me, we kept running into each other during the rest of our time at the convention. Eventually I was able to muster up the courage to ask for her number and the rest is history!
Back in March 2020, Roshni and I were planning on going to France with her family. I was debating whether I should propose to her there. Eventually I decided Paris was too obvious and cliche. So, I decided to catch her off guard and propose the month before when I visited her in Houston. It was a great decision since COVID destroyed our France trip! I chose to propose at the planetarium in the Houston Museum of Natural Science, figuring Roshni would never expect it to be there. I worked it out with the museum that after the last showing of the day in the planetarium, a “fireworks show" would take place and then it would immediately go into a slideshow and my proposal. I then concocted a plan with Roshni’s brothers Josh and Andrew. Josh texted Roshni that he “won” free tickets to the museum and that we should all go when I visited Houston. On the drive to the museum he also made up that he had tickets to the last planetarium show, but he did not have enough tickets for everyone. I graciously volunteered Roshni and I to not go to the show and opted to walk around the museum instead. Andrew then mentioned to Roshni that he heard that there was a free firework show in the planetarium after the final show of the day. We agreed to meet them in the planetarium when their show finished. As Roshni and I walked around the museum I nervously kept checking the time to make sure we weren’t late! Once the time came, we walked into the “empty” planetarium and sat next to Josh and Andrew. The fireworks started and then suddenly “My Boo” by Usher started playing. Roshni and I sang karaoke to this song on our first date. That’s when I think she knew. My slideshow started playing and the question was written in the stars. She said yes! Then my siblings also revealed themselves from the back of the planetarium and we all celebrated together!
