Like many modern love stories, ours begins on Hinge in 2020- while I was finishing my last semester of nursing school and he was just starting law school. Naturally, I was very hesitant to meet up with a stranger from the internet, but it just so happened my roommate at the time grew up in the same hometown as him and knew his family very well. She thought we'd get along great and encouraged me to meet up with him, which really wasn't hard considering he had a 6 month old puppy at the time. Big shout out to Emma Leider (Johnson) for starting this love story. Our first date was going to be a small trail walk in Lansing that ended up turning into a 5 mile walk with dinner after. It was so easy between us from the very beginning. Then I got a crazy idea and decided to move to Austin, TX after graduation. We made it through a long 2.5 years of long distance and finally made it back to each other in February of 2024 where we moved in together in Chicago. It was a full circle moment when George proposed in October of 2025 on another trail walk with our favorite buddy, Arthur. All 3 of us are so excited for this next chapter and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all soon 🤍
