This is a quick drive from the Casino and right next to the Conservatory. This historical aquarium may be small but the architecture is phenomenal. The Belle Isle Aquarium opened on August 18th, 1904 and was the third largest in the world at the time. There was a speakeasy in the basement during prohibition. It is currently completely run by the love of volunteers.
This place is beautiful! The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory is an exotic and rare collection of plants from around the world. It is the oldest continually-running conservatory in the United States and is divided into five distinct sections: the Palm House, the Tropical House, the Cactus House, a sunken Fernery, and the Show House. Don't forget to check out the koi pond between the Aquarium and the Conservatory.
