How We Met

July 6, 2019

For two people who aren't particularly tech-savvy, we both went to technology for help. Geoff found my profile on Hinge and commented on an archery photo saying, "I could make a 'Cupid' remark but that could lead to me being on the other end of that arrow..." Our first date, naturally, was at an archery range. I utterly destroyed him, and we knew pretty quickly that there was something there!

The Proposal

September 3, 2022

I would be lying if I said a ring wasn't on my mind for a while leading up to September 3rd. I constantly looked for signals, or hints or signs and still... he blew me away. Of all the places I thought he'd ask, I really didn't think it would be Disneyland. He said he didn't like the crowds watching you and how "impersonal" it could be... and I believed him. I did not, for one moment, think he was just throwing me off. But he did. He carried the ring all day in his pocket and I never saw it or suspected it. I didn't make it easy on him either. I sat "on the wrong side" of the car on Big Thunder Mountain, so he had to switch pockets to avoid my finding out! We stopped, on a whim (or so I thought), to go use our free photo pass for pictures. Geoff was sneaky - told the photographer that he was going to propose, so he was ready! He turned to me after a couple pictures, got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. People cheered and yelled for me to say yes - to kiss him! I said yes, I cried, I hugged him, I kissed him, my hat fell off. I was so shocked, I barely even saw the ring! I didn't get a good look at it until we made it over to Carthay Circle for dinner. I still find myself staring at it every day. He did so good.
