Avignon
28 minutes from wedding venue. Most of our international friends will train to the Avignon TGV station. Grab lunch in Avignon, see the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes), and Pont du Gard (a Roman aqueduct bridge built in the 1st century AD).
Les Baux-de-Provence
17 minutes from the wedding venue. An 11th-century, pedestrian-only, hilltop village known for its stunning panoramic views of the Alpilles mountains. Ranked among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France," it features castle ruins amongst other monuments.
Palais des Papes
28 minutes from the wedding venue. "Palace of the Popes" - a UNESCO World Heritage site built in the 14th century. This is the world’s largest Gothic palace.
Gordes
1 hour from the wedding venue. Beautiful hilltop town to walk around.
Roussillon
1 hour from the wedding venue. Beautiful orange and red village amongst the ochre cliffs. Walk around, visit little shops, and grab an ice cream!
Calanque d'En-vau
2 hours from the wedding venue. We hiked this area and jumped in the water. Beautiful spot -- bring a picnic! There are 3 different "calanques" or coves to discover. Drive to Cassis and take the shuttle to the trailhead. The parking lot is at Av. des Gorguettes, 13260 Cassis, France
L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
48 minutes from the wedding venue. Cute town on a river with waterwheels. Has a Sunday antiques and flea market.
Verdon Gorge
Canyon that's about 3 hours away (maybe a good spot to visit before or after if you're in that area). Hiking and kayaking!
