I was home on summer break one year, catching up with a friend at a bonfire his friend was hosting, when out of the woods emerged a rakishly handsome man. He walked right up to me, took my hand and said the most beautiful words I’ve ever heard: “You look hot, let’s throw you in the fire.” I was aghast and a little creeped out, but unbeknownst to me that was the day an ember was planted. Cut to 9 years later… Summer 2021. I had come to know the creeper, I mean Geoff, and we had started spending more time together with a group of friends (he was my ride). That summer stoked the ember that had been planted 9 years ago. Then one fall evening at another fire, something clicked in Geoff’s head and he decided it was time to make a move. The following morning I found out how fond of me he was and realized I was also fond of him. Love’s fire has been growing hotter and bigger every day since.
