The story of how Whitney and Geoff met differs slightly based on who you ask. Whitney says they met at a party after her editor assigned her an article on all how to get rid of a guy in ten days, and Geoff was participating in an irresponsible workplace bet relying on him getting a woman to fall in love with him in ten days. Through a Shakespearian-inspired comedy of errors, they realized their competing selfish reasons for dating did nothing to impede their natural chemistry. On the other hand, Geoff claims he was called in to rescue Whitney to secure a significant reward. Even after initially bailing, he returned to be the hero. The two fought for awhile, until Whitney confessed her love for Geoff and his only response was “I know.” We’re just kidding, those are just the plots of our favorite romantic comedies (EDITOR’S NOTE: Geoff, Star Wars is not a romantic comedy.) We met online, as all good slightly-introverted millennials should. Geoff fell in love with Whitney’s interest in political podcasts, and Whitney fell in love with Geoff’s willingness to listen to podcasts she recommended. Their love grew over dinners of fancy cheese neither could afford and board games Whitney took a little too seriously.
