Our story began on a fall afternoon in Central Park - or at least, that’s when it was supposed to begin. After too many phone calls for Diana’s taste, Geoff had finally asked to meet Diana for a date in the city. The easiest place to meet was outside near Central Park and Geoff arrived 10 minutes early in eager anticipation. Diana texted to say she was running late. This isn’t particularly uncommon with NYC traffic but it was a Sunday and once the 15 minute mark hit Geoff began to pace back and forth, wearing a path in the concrete as he wondered whether he was being stood up or was fate truly just running fashionably late? He convinced himself to stay with memories of the fun phone calls they had shared and frequent glances at the photos Diana had posted of herself online where they met. But who knew if these were even real? At long last Diana arrived - two hours behind schedule, flustered but glowing. Instead of frustration, Geoff met her with a calm smile and a playful remark, instantly melting the awkwardness away. That unexpected patience, that instant comfort, was the start of something extraordinary. And yes, the pictures had been legit - not even touched up! We wandered the park, shared stories, and laughed like old friends. By the time the sun began to dip, something had shifted, and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner that neither of us wanted to end. What started as a chance meeting had turned into something real - something that neither of us could walk away from and instead were excited to dive into headfirst. Over the next three years, we have grown together, building a life filled with love, laughter, punctuality and the kind and deep connection that feels both exciting and entirely at home. Now, here we are - saying yes to forever, and we couldn’t be more grateful for that date that almost didn’t happen.
