Let's face it.... this pandemic blows. Of course we were all hopeful that by the time of our wedding, all of this would be behind us. Unfortunately, it's not. We are monitoring the situation carefully. As of today, the state of New Jersey has not changed any masking or social distancing mandates. However, many people are again choosing to mask indoors. The Boathouse (a county building) requires masking (minus eating or drinking). The Boathouse is quite large which ample outdoor space for everyone to enjoy safely. We do ask that if possible, that guests take precautions at least two weeks prior to the wedding even if you are vaccinated. We also recommend that guests pump up immune systems with Vitamin D3, Zinc, and Super C, wash your hands frequently and keep hands away from your eyes and mouth. If you are feeling sick or even a bit "off", please consider staying home. Masks and hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the day. Stay safe!
YES! There is a shuttle van that fits up to 14 people that will be available from the hotel to the Boathouse and back to the hotel later in the night. We will provide additional details on our wedding day.
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If you need help finding a local baby-sitter, we'll be happy to help you find one.
If you would like to send your gift, please ship it to our home and don't forget to tell us who to thank! 100 9th Avenue, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035
Our couple is blessed to have unique names but of course that also means that it can be difficult to pronounce for new comers. This is especially true for the bride who has grown accustomed to correcting both her first and last name over the years. Geoffrey Gelay = JEF-ree Ja-lay (French/French) Daria Cuda = DARE-ee-ah COO-dah (Ukrainian/Italian)
One of the great wedding traditions that Daria and her family will bring to the wedding is the Pittsburgh cookie table. Of course most weddings have a cookie and dessert table of some sort but a PITTSBURGH cookie table takes them to a whole new level and it requires the participation of friends and family. If you have a favorite cookie recipe, now is your chance to share it. One person (Daria's mom) coordinates a list of proposed cookies (basically so that not everyone is making chocolate chip cookies). Then friends and family who want to participate bake a few dozen cookies and then bring them to share with everyone at the wedding and share the recipe. The idea is to have at least one dozen cookies per person. Yes, that's a lot of cookies! Attendees are given to-go containers at the end of the night, too. It's a great way to bring everyone together, to provide the couple with some new recipes, and to start the couple's marriage off on a sweet note.
If you would like to bake cookies for the table, please reach out to Daria or her mom, Yvonne. We also plan to have a sign-up sheet at the shower.
