Our story began in May 2015 in Santa Monica. We were attending a local run club. After seeing each other a few more times at the same run club, Adam asked Melissa if she wanted to get froyo afterwards. Adam added Melissa on Facebook the next day and messaged her that he "forgot" to give her his number.

They had their first date at Descanso Gardens, followed by a short hike. Adam says that he added in the hike, to make sure "Melissa was into hiking and wasn't just saying she was into hiking." Their summer was filled with hikes, new adventures, and lots of time together. Together throughout the years Adam and Mel would explore National Parks all over the country, Canada, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, Czech Republic, Iceland, Peru, Panama, backpack Yosemite and Havasupai, summit the highest trail in the United States, and run half marathons whenever possible.

Adam brought Melissa to their first date spot in Decanso Gardens. He asked Tim Delaney, a family friend, to create artwork for 10 pivotal parts of their relationship and put it all together in an "Adventure Book" (similar to the movie "Up"). Melissa (still having no idea) was completely off guard when she turned the page that read "You will always be my greatest adventure, will you marry me?"
