One of the reasons we LOVE Marin is because of the extraordinary hiking. Follow the link for some of our favorites! Organized from Easiest to Hardest: 1. Kirby Cove (3 miles/4.8km ) > Beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate. You can bring a little snack and have it on the beach there. 2. West Point Inn (4 miles/6.5km ) > Start your hike at one of our favorite little inns, Mountain Home Inn, and end at West Point Inn. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Bay! 3. Dias Ridge (6 miles/10k) > Start at the top of Panoramic Ridge through some redwoods and hike to one of the most beautiful beaches, Muir Beach. Next door, you can get a lovely pint at the Pelican Inn (hot tip - we're going to hang there Friday ;)) 4. Dipsea Trail (14 miles > 20k) > She's a burner, but if you're looking to soak in some California Sun, this one will fill up your cup! This trails got everything. Redwoods, beach, halfway stop for a little sando, beer, wine cocktail, even a little bookstore.
One of the best places in the world to go Kayaking along the bay is in Sausalito. If you want to be mildly adventurous and enjoy some cool architecture from the houseboats, this is it! The best part is you can grab the ferry from Tiburon over to Sausalito and walk (about 20 min) to the Kayaking spot.
