Harpers Ferry

Quaint town only 10 min drive from our recommended hotel. Parking is limited so recommend arriving early. It’s a small, walkable town, with lots of shops, restaurants, and historical sites, including John Brown’s Fort and Harpers Ferry Historical Museum.

Harpers Ferry National Historical Park

The most popular peak hike in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is to Maryland Heights, the highest point overlooking the town. The main trail is a moderately strenuous 4.5-mile out-and-back hike, though a longer 6.5-mile loop is also available. The summit offers spectacular views of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, Harpers Ferry, and the surrounding area.

Leesburg

Cute downtown near Dulles airport. We love checking out the shops, exploring the farmers market, and grabbing breakfast. Our favorite breakfast spot is Cowbell Kitchen. Also check out the Leesburg Premium Outlets!

Leesburg Flower and Garden Festival

This weekend only! April 18-19, 10am-5pm. Ted and Genna went last year and had a lot of fun!

Old Town

Old Town Alexandria is a historic district on the Potomac River in Virginia, close to Genna and Ted’s home. It is known for its 18th and 19th-century architecture, cobblestone streets, and vibrant waterfront. Numerous boutiques, restaurants, historic sites, and museums. Just a few miles from Washington, D.C.

Washington

About 1.5 hours from our venue. Lots to do in DC — we recommend exploring the free Smithsonian museums. Our favorite is the National Museum of American History!
