A lot has happened for Mark and I in 2020. We found out last September that Mark's mom, Esther, had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We planned our June wedding hoping that the treatments would work and she would beat the cancer or at least extend her life. We got the sad news in early February that the treatments were not working and she would likely only be with us a few more months. It was very important to Mark and I that Esther be with us for the wedding, so we decided to hold a small ceremony with just a few family members and a couple of close friends on February 23. We had a beautiful ceremony and dinner at Table Mountain Inn in Golden, Colorado. Photos of the event can be found on the "photos" tab of this website. At the time of the wedding in Golden, we still planned on having a larger wedding in June with all of our family and friends. Then about two weeks later, COVID-19 came to our country, and as we all know, everything shut down. We waited as long as we could to cancel our wedding not knowing what the disease would bring, but we decided to cancel the event in early April. On April 19, Mark's mother Esther passed, and COVID-19 has stuck around long after our June date, so know we made the right decision in canceling. Not getting to celebrate with the rest of our loved ones weighs heavy on our hearts, but we know we will celebrate with everyone individually once the world returns to some normalcy. In the meantime, we want you all to know how much we love and cherish you, and we want to thank you for your love and support of our marriage. Until we see you again, Genevieve and Mark
