Who could have imagined that two South Africans, born in the same year, would find each other in Austin, Texas, decades later? Thank goodness for online dating, right? ;) Our story began in March 2021, when instead of the usual bouquet, Jaco showed up to our first date with a brown paper bag filled with biltong. If you know, you know! And here we are, 3 ½ years later, still laughing about Genevieve’s “helpful” suggestion that his homemade biltong needed a bit more spice! In March 2023, during a trip to Cape Town to visit Jaco’s family, we started dreaming about getting married in South Africa—a place that holds such deep meaning for us both. Exploring the Cape Winelands and soaking in the beauty of the coast sealed the deal. We couldn't be more excited to celebrate our love in a place that means so much to us, surrounded by the people we cherish.
