Question

How many nights should I stay?

Answer

At least 3 nights. We have the hotel blocked from Thursday thru Sunday and are asking everyone to stay for these 3 nights. If you decide to arrive in Holbox a night early, as mentioned as an option in the Travel Section, you are welcome to stay Wednesday night as well. Additionally, we would love any and all you to extend your stay after our wedding if you would like to spend some more time together. We will be staying at the hotel until Tuesday. Feel free to book these additional nights at our hotel or any nearby hotels on the island.

Question

When does my passport expire?

Answer

We can't answer this for you. Please check the expiration date on your passports so you don't have to go through the headache of having one expedited the day before your flight (speaking from experience)

Question

How is the WiFi / Cell Service?

Answer

The island only has one cell tower so service is unreliable. Expect to disconnect. The WiFi at our hotel works great in the common areas but doesn't extend perfectly to some of the rooms.

Question

Should I bring cash?

Answer

Credit cards are accepted at most businesses on the island however it's always a good idea to have some cash for tipping, shopping, or emergencies. The island is small with only a few ATMs that don't always work. We recommend exchanging cash for pesos or pulling money out of an ATM in Cancun before you arrive on the island.

Question

What meals will be provided?

Answer

Breakfast is included with the rooms and served in the hotel's restaurant every morning. And not just some cheap continental breakfast - it is a full menu, made to order delicious meal. We will be providing a casual dinner at the Welcome Party on Thursday and a sit down family style dinner at the Reception on Saturday. The hotel's restaurant and bar will remain open for us for the entirety of our stay if you're feeling hungry outside of these meals. The island has no shortage of delicious restaurants in walking distance that range from inexpensive taco and pizza places to upscale seafood restaurants that you can explore for your other meals. All the rooms have mini fridges if you would like to bring some of your own snacks and drinks. Please note that there are no major grocery stores on the island. If you would like to purchase snacks or beverages to have in your hotel room, consider asking your driver to stop at a store on the mainland on your drive from Cancun. You will probably want to grab some cold beers for the drive anyways :)

Question

How do I get around on the island?

Answer

By foot, bike, or golf cart. There are no cars on the island but its tiny and easy to navigate. The center of town is a one mile beach walk away. You can also rent bikes or golf carts or take a golf cart taxi into town for a few dollars.
