Places To Stay

Bristol is a fairly small town with limited hotels in Bristol or in neighboring towns. These are our recommendations for accommodations: 1. Book early. February isn't too early! 2. Look at airbnb's or local bed and breakfast places first. These will get you closest to the wedding venue in Bristol, Warren, Portsmouth, or Barrington RI. Airbnb's also seem to have some of the cheapest rates and can accommodate groups traveling together. 3. There are two major hubs both around a 30-45 minute drive from Bristol: Newport and Providence. If you plan to do things in the area, these are both great cities to stay in! Newport is near the water and offers a unique RI experience of scenery, food, and places to visit (hotels in this area tend to offer free parking as well). Providence is the state's capitol and has lots of restaurants, nightlife, beautiful shops, a river canal, and places to walk around (hotels charge around $40/day for parking). 4. We have some hotel blocks and discounts in Swansea, MA (20 minute drive from the wedding venue), as well as Newport, RI (30 minute drive). Flight

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport

We highly recommend flying to this airport in RI if possible instead of Boston Logan Airport in Massachusetts. It is much less crowded and you will avoid the dreaded Boston traffic!

Train

MBTA Commuter Rail

We recommend the MBTA commuter rail for travel between Boston, MA and RI. The Providence/Stoughton line runs from Boston South Station to Providence, RI and has a later stop close to T.F. Green Airport. Trains run consistently throughout all days of the week (check their schedules online) and tickets are around $12 one-way or you can use a $10 weekend pass for unlimited rides Saturday and Sunday. Purchase tickets via the mTicket app. If you are flying into Boston Logan Airport and want to use public transportation to get to Providence, you can take the Silver Line bus (technically a Boston T subway line) from the airport to South Station, then take the Providence/Stoughton Line from South Station to Providence, RI.
