Hudson and Genesis first met at The Vertical Church during a Young Adult Bible study. At first, their conversations were just friendly exchanges here and there as they saw each other around church. In fact, Genesis had no romantic intentions—especially after noticing Hudson’s choice of camo Crocs (a fashion no-go in her book!). But as time went on, their little chats turned into deeper conversations. One day, Hudson took a leap of faith and sent Genesis a DM on Instagram kicking things off with a cheesy joke: "What’s a DJ’s favorite sauce?" "Mara-nara." It was undeniably corny, but somehow, it worked. Their first "date" wasn’t really planned—it was more of a casual hangout. Hudson didn’t want to go see "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish", alone so he invited Genesis to join him. After the movie, they found themselves standing outside the theater, talking for hours. That night sparked something special, and soon, they started spending more and more time together. When Valentine's Day came around, Hudson officially asked Genesis to be his Valentine… while wearing those infamous camo Crocs. Lucky for him, she still said yes! A few days later, on February 18, 2022, after three months of getting to know each other, they made it official: they were a couple. And thankfully, when the day came for Hudson to propose, the camo Crocs stayed far, far away. From a Bible study to a forever love story—what started with friendship (and questionable footwear choices) turned into the best decision of their lives.
