FAQs

Question

Are masks required at the wedding?

Answer

Yes, Botanica states that you only need to wear a mask when ordering drinks from the bar or interacting with their staff

Question

Are guests invited to both the Tea Ceremony on 8/13 and the Wedding on 8/14?

Answer

The Tea Ceremony on 8/13/21 is a common part of a traditional Vietnamese Weddings that only family members attend, not friends. Whereas on the Wedding Day 8/14/21, both family and friends are invited.

Question

Which hotel should wedding guests book their stay?

Answer

Gene and Cindy will be staying at the Springhill Suites Carlsbad hotel from 8/13 - 8/15 during the wedding weekend. Although we do not have any planned events at our hotel, we do suggest this location because it is a lively area with lots of fun beaches, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.

Question

What is the dress code for the Vietnamese Tea Ceremony?

Answer

Guests are welcome to wear either Vietnamese "Ao Dai" (both for men and women) or formal attire. Formal attire may include suits for men and dresses for women.

Question

Transportation from Hotel to Wedding Venue?

Answer

Gene and Cindy will be staying in the SpringHill Suites in Carlsbad Village. Carlsbad Village is 14 miles (~25 minutes) away from the Botanica Wedding Venue. The wedding venue has a parking lot with plenty of parking space for wedding guests. If our guests would rather not drive to the wedding venue, then we highly recommend guests use Uber or Lyft as a mode of transportation to and from the wedding venue.
