Hannah and Gene met on December 20th through mutual friends on their ship, the USS Momsen. They immediately became close friends when Hannah called him on New Year’s Eve (after having a little too much to drink) Over the next year they spent every moment they could with each other. Eating out at their favorite restaurants, catching movies, and going to the gym. There were ups and downs with their friendship because each of them knew they were falling in love with one another, but deciding that it was not the right time for a relationship. Finally, on September 12th 2023 Hannah asked Gene to be her boyfriend. They fell more in love with one another and as each day passed by they knew their life didn’t make sense without the other person in it. Already acting like a married couple, Gene proposed to Hannah in a romantic home setting with roses candles and flowers, and without skipping a beat Hannah said yes. They are now anxiously waiting to say “We do” starting the next chapter of their lives together.
