FAQs

Question

I didn't get a "plus one"/our kids aren’t on the rsvp. Can I still bring a date/kids with me?

Answer

No. Because of the size of the venue and limited seating, as well as having an assigned seating chart for the reception, we ask that you honor the invitation as it was addressed.

Question

How serious is the fragrance/scent free request?

Answer

Very serious! The best gift you can give to the bride is to come to the event without using any scented products, or bringing any with you. There will be "bride approved" soap, hand sanitizer, and lotion at the venue for your use!

Question

What if I arrive after 2:45? Will I really not be able to get in to park and attend the ceremony?

Answer

Because the only road to get to the parking lot goes directly behind where the bride and groom will be standing during the ceremony, we can not have any cars going through during that time. If you want to attend the ceremony, please ensure that you allow yourself enough time to get to the venue before 2:45.

Question

Will there be things to do and/or eat while the bridal party and family takes pictures between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes! We will have a variety of yard games to play, cold drinks, and light snacks to eat.

Question

If I get there early, can I visit the bride before the ceremony?

Answer

Unless the bride has personally told you ahead of time that it's ok, please refrain from going into the guest house to see her before the ceremony.

Question

What kind of a barn is this? What should I expect?

Answer

The Rosemål Barn is a beautiful, rustic venue! It's unique in that it has a variety of different sized tables and chairs. It is not air-conditioned or heated, so please check the weather ahead of time to dress appropriately. There are doors that open on both sides of the barn allowing for a nice cross-breeze on the dance floor. There are also three very nice indoor bathrooms close to the barn on the outside of the guest house.

Question

DJ or live band? What kind of music should we expect?

Answer

There will be a DJ who is a friend of the bride and groom! Expect "clean" music and a lot of music from the 80's, 90's, as well as a little older and more current songs peppered in. The bride and groom hope to see everyone on the dance floor doing the YMCA, Cupid Shuffle, and other fun family-friendly songs that everyone will enjoy dancing to!

Question

Is there going to be a policy on phone use or photography at the event?

Answer

Yes. Please have all devices on silent during the ceremony. The bride and groom also request that people refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony as well as when family pictures are being taken after the ceremony. Feel free to take pictures at the reception and tag the bride and groom on your social media posts!

Question

Is there a smoking policy at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There is no smoking or vaping in or directly outside of the barn. You must be 50 ft. away. There is also zero-tolerance policy on marijuana use. If you do not abide by either of these policies, you will be asked to leave the property.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar, so please do NOT bring any alcohol of your own to the venue. This is not a “byob” event. The property owners will be at the event and will ask you to leave if you fail to honor this policy.

Question

What kind of food should I expect?

Answer

We are having a BBQ buffet catered. There will be two different kinds of meat and several sides to choose from!
