Our Story

Enzo and I met at Summer’s Best Two Weeks, a Christian sports camp that has been a huge part of my life since I was 8 years old. Growing up, it was always fun to joke about marrying a “camp crush,” but little did I know that 15 years later, that silly little dream would actually come true! We met during the summer of 2022, our first year as counselors. I remember the moment he walked into the dining hall—I thought to myself, “Dang! Who is that Italian-looking guy?” From that moment on, it felt like our paths were continuously weaving together. We were put into a lot of groups together and quickly got to know each other before we were assigned campers. Looking back, we both agree it wasn’t exactly love at first sight, but more of a feeling like, “You’re going to be in my life for a long time.” That summer, we started exchanging love lines (a camp tradition of passing notes), and as the weeks passed, it became clear that our connection was deeper than friendship. By the end of the summer, we were faced with a big question: Should we take the next step? With our schools seven hours away and our hometowns nearly two hours apart, the distance wasn’t going to be easy. With much prayer and discussion, God made it clear to both of us—this was something worth pursuing. Though long distance was challenging, it was so worth it. Before we started dating we both talked about how we were planning to study abroad in Italy at the same time! It was a crazy coincidence and played a huge role in pursuing each other. This made God’s hand in our relationship even more evident. Even though we were in different programs, we were just a seven-minute walk across Florence from each other. How amazing that the only place we weren’t long distance was in Italy! Both being of Italian descent, we had an incredible time diving into the Italian culture, exploring Europe, and making memories with both old and new friends. One of the most special moments was visiting Zungoli, the small town where my grandfather grew up, with my mother and meeting my family there for the first time. It was an unforgettable experience, and we felt so blessed to share that study abroad time together in the greatest city in the world, Florence. After our time abroad, we returned for another summer at camp, navigating the unique challenges of dating in an environment where boys and girls were constantly separated. While it wasn’t always easy, it was an experience that strengthened our relationship and was 100% worth it. Then, we survived our final year of college long distance, visiting each other about once a month. Post-graduation, we both decided to live at home for work and grad school, and while the two-hour distance still isn’t ideal, we’ve felt so spoiled by getting to see each other every weekend. Then, on December 28th, 2024, Enzo gave me the ultimate surprise. With the help of my amazing friends and family, he proposed! I was over the moon. We can’t imagine spending the rest of our lives with anyone else, and we thank God every day for bringing us together in such a divine way. Our relationship has been a true testament to God’s faithfulness, and we pray that others can see His hand in our story too. We cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you this July!
