Camron and I first met freshman year of high school — I had a huge crush on him, and I finally worked up the courage to talk to him after our geography class. I invited him to a Bible study, but he totally blew me off and I thought he was dumb after that. No more crush. A year later, it was sophomore year now, and I remember seeing him stare at me in the corner of my eye when I was walking in the hallways. Now it was him trying to pull me! I was kind of snarky and tried to ignore him/play hard to get. Since we had some mutual friends, his genius plan was to get them all to randomly bring his name up around me, which they did. He actually got his friend Amy to get my best friend/MOH Gretchen to “randomly” bring him up one day when we were hanging out: “What ever happened to that guy Camron that you liked last year?” Pretty soon after, he added me on Snapchat by search and sent me fake streaks. I saw his location was right next to mine on the map, and sent him a Snap saying, “OMG we’re neighbors!!!” After that, we kept talking over Snapchat. The next day, my cat Spencer got out and I had to search for him. Of course it was totally impractical to search for him by walking outside in the cold, but when I told Camron I was searching for my cat, he volunteered to come help me. We walked around the neighborhood looking for Spencer and just talking for like 2 hours, and that was when we really started dating! (His future step-son brought us together!) We were 15 and 16 years old. Our first unofficial dates were us walking to the park, sitting on a bench, eating uncrustables and just talking. Our first official date was going ice skating at the mall! When we were 18 we decided to get legally married, as I’m sure everyone knows. We always planned on having our wedding a few years later, and we are SO EXCITED that it’s finally happening! We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage with all our friends and family around us! Being high school sweethearts, going to prom together, growing up together, being married in college, graduating together — I’m just so thankful for our entire journey and I wouldn’t change anything.
