We first met in second grade in 2004, when we were in the same class. But for the next 10 years growing up in Manhasset, despite having similar groups of friends and being 2/10 jewish kids in our grade, we mostly went our separate ways. We always knew of each other but never quite crossed paths, until the summer going into our senior year of high school. We both happened to be going to the same summer program in California and decided to meet up. We became friendly, but still went our separate ways once we got home. But during our senior year, we kept running into each other and really it was only a matter of time. Our friends tried to set us up, and Jack decided to ask Zoe to senior prom with his famous car post-it promposal (see Zoe's instagram for reference). They had an incredible night at prom, where it all clicked, and knew there was a connection there they couldn't ignore. Four days later we decided to start dating! Countless flights between Syracuse and Atlanta, sushi dinners, Knicks games, Broadway shows, drives to Sands Point, Cafe Panna runs, walks around Madison Square Park, and many adventures later... here we are!
Jack knew that hiding a secret from Zoe was going to be challenging, especially when road bumps with the planned date came up and Zoe was asking questions! But Jack pivoted quickly, and was able to convince her that they were going to a Drake concert and meeting friends in Dumbo for drinks at a fancy restaurant beforehand. Zoe and Jack showed up to the restaurant and Jack suggested they go for a walk. As they approached the Brooklyn Bridge, while Zoe was taking pictures of the view, she saw that there was a sign set up saying "Marry Me" with flowers, candles, roses, and pictures of them all around it. With all of NYC watching, Jack got down on one knee and proposed, and Zoe said yes (surprise, surprise)! It was a magical night that ended in dinner at Cecconi's Dumbo where Jack detailed all of the fun antics leading up to the moment. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting to celebrate 8 and a half years of love together. And now, we are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with YOU! See you in NYC in October!
