Shelby and Nathan met at the young ages of 15 and 16 when Shelby hopped into the back seat directly behind Nathan, in a mutual friend’s car. Nathan couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful girl through the passenger window. He tried to keep his cool, but even then he knew, that there was something truly special about her. The new friends embarked on an adventure when a perfect rainbow was spotted that the group knew with absolute certainty that they could and would find the end of, which they relentlessly chased down to no avail. After that day, Nathan and Shelby would begin to date, often chauffeured by Nathan’s brother who was kind enough to enable their budding relationship. The year that followed was marked by an intense and passionate young relationship where the two couldn’t quite grasp the uniqueness and special quality of the love they shared, and inevitably decided to part ways in order to grow and mature. However, throughout that time, Shelby and Nathan always remained connected, as seemingly, they knew their story was not over.

Some years passed, the connection remained, and when the timing seemed right, Shelby and Nathan reunited and their passionate flame rekindled immediately. After a few short months, Shelby and Nathan packed up their lives and moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they would live together for the next two years. This period of time brought personal challenges the two would prove, only a true love could overcome. Shelby and Nathan moved back to Austin where both would embark on professional careers, Shelby in real estate marketing and Nathan in financial technology. Over the 6 years following their return to Austin, Shelby and Nathan were fortunate to travel extensively, enjoy passions including Skiing, RV renovation, and spending time with their furry family: Buster, Stassi, and Sasha. Over time, they would align on personal and mutual dreams, work to build stability, and plan their future together. With a deep love, and a commitment to overcome any obstacle, and a solid foundation on which to build a life, Nathan knew it was time to take the next step in their love story.

In December 2021, Nathan took Shelby on a semi-surprise trip to Lake Tahoe for a romantic getaway. At this point, having been together for some 7 years, there is only so much surprise two people living together and sharing accounts can provide each other but nonetheless, efforts were made to make the days that followed truly special. On a drive to Turtle Bay overlook, surrounded by snow draped scenery, Shelby and Nathan got out of the car to admire the stunning view where Nathan got down on one knee and proposed to the love of his life. In the background, a somewhat awkward photographer captured the moment as it happened. Shelby said “yes” through teary eyes, and the two happily agreed to spend the rest of their days building a wonderful life together. Over the next year, Shelby and Nathan have spent time developing themselves, continually affirming their love for each other, progressing toward their goals, and planning their wedding, an event worthy of their incredible love story.
