John and Ashleigh were introduced by Kaylee, one of Ashleigh's long-time friends from high school in North Carolina. Kaylee is married to John's friend Daniel and she had the brilliant idea to introduce them one cold winter night on December 27, 2014 over the warm flames of a bonfire that John's parents were known for having at their house. Kaylee made sure to say all the wonderful things to Ashleigh about John and Ashleigh can now confirm, they are all true! Sidenote: If you're looking to find that perfect "someone" maybe you can ask Kaylee, she has a good track record of successful matchmaking--I'm sure she'd do it for a small fee!

We had been talking about going up to the North Carolina coast for over a year to see where I (Ashleigh) was born and to relax. John booked a trip and we make our 8-hour trip up the coast. On Saturday we went out on the HUGE dunes on Jockey's Ridge at sunset and John got down on one knee and the rest is history!
