Our favorite spot in the West Loop. Incredible food, including the best burger in the city, and reel-to-reel playlists. You can put your name in at the door, grab a drink next door, and they'll call you when your table is ready. Worth the wait.

Bumbu Roux

Check out our friend Chef Chris Reed's new spot Bumbu Roux for amazing Cajun-Indonesian cuisine. Located in the Politan Row Food Hall, where the bar has happy hour from 4-7 p.m. (Mon-Fri).

D'Amato's Bakery

A wonderful, old-school Chicago bakery. Our go-to for traditional Italian pizza and subs. Cheap, delicious, and cash only.

Garfield Park Conservatory

A beautiful, peaceful green oasis on the city's west side. 12 acres of indoor & outdoor gardens, with the 3rd largest garden under glass in the world. Open daily 9am-5pm. Admission and parking are free.

The Green Mill

Live jazz (or poetry or comedy) every night of the week! The Green Mill has been open for more than 100 years.

Number one vegetarian/vegan restaurant in town. Veggie comfort food, plus a great outdoor patio.

Lula Cafe

Locally sourced and located right below Liz's brother John's venue, Logan Square Auditorium. A staple of Logan Square, the brunch is out of this world and the dinner vibe is quaint, eclectic and romantic. If you can't get a table, you can sit at the bar for relaxed drinks and to order from their sandwich menu.

Publican Quality Meats

Chris's favorite butcher shop in the West Loop. It's also a café and bakery with an incredible restaurant next door. All the meats you could ask for and a terrific seafood selection.
