Gaylord and Lauren first met in the fall of 2022 at Confluence Academy, where Gaylord served as a beloved security officer and Lauren had recently joined the faculty as a special education instructor. It didn’t take long for a genuine friendship to form, as they began spending their free time together throughout the day. United by their shared passion for supporting at-risk students, they created an after-school behavior program—planting the first seeds of something truly special. Along the way, they discovered a shared love of music, and their chemistry became impossible to ignore. It was clear to everyone around them—they were falling for each other. One day, Gaylord invited Lauren out for karaoke. What began as a simple outing between friends quickly turned into a dinner date, ending with a first kiss that neither of them would ever forget. By the spring of 2023, their love had blossomed into something undeniable, and they officially began their journey as a couple. They expressed their love in thoughtful, unique ways, constantly finding little moments to show how much they meant to each other. On August 23, 2025, Gaylord asked Lauren to spend forever with him. Surrounded by close family at home, what Lauren thought was a dinner to celebrate her and her son Bryson officially moving in became a life-changing moment when Gaylord got down on one knee. Since then, Gaylord and Lauren have shared adventures, vacations, and cherished memories; each one strengthening the love they have built together. Now, they are grateful for the greatest adventure of all - becoming one in front of God and their loved ones. They are overjoyed and grateful to share this special moment with all of you.
