Met on 26 Mar 2022 during a fund raising ride to Antelope Island when, once on the island, Gayle, in amateur fashion, had run out of gas on her bike. Always the gentleman, Wakely offered her gas from a container he happened to be carrying in the back of his bike just for situations such as Gayle's. It was at this time Wakely informed Gayle of the group of folks he rode with and suggested he add her to the group chat as she was still relatively new to riding and was looking to gain more group riding experience. Gayle welcomed this while simultaneously beginning her face book stalking adventure. Following this first encounter, Wakely and Gayle would continue to cross paths over the course of the next 7 months, without conversation, until Wakely posted in the riding group chat that he had extra tickets to a local concert. Gayle, wishing to take things to the next level, beyond face book stalking, jumped on the invite and joined Wakely along with a couple of her friends. The night itself was a hang out and not an official date. However, Wakely enjoyed the evening and Gayle's company, complete with good music and laughter, so much that before the evening would come to a close he specifically asked Gayle out on an official date to go see the Alan Parsons Project on Nov 10th 2022. During this official date at the concert while walking down on the floor, Wakely and Gayle came upon a large X that had been formed with tape on the floor. While walking across it, Gayle commented laughingly, "X marks the spot." Both laughed and continued walking when Wakely stopped Gayle suddenly without warning, took her by the arm, led her back to the X, stood on it, and asked her to repeat what she had just said. Gayle responded saying again, "X marks the spot." Without words Wakely then held Gayle's cheeks in his hands and gently planted a soft kiss on her lips and also repeated, "X marks the spot." That first official date and and first kiss would become the beginning of what is now another beginning of a lifelong love story. To be continued....

We went on a hike to Donut Falls (Wakelys favorite place) we were the last ones up to the base of the falls and we were the last ones to come down from the falls before the gates would close for the evening. We got back to the car and Wakely said he needed to use the restroom and called me over and showed me the place the Valley Riders had thier picnic...I was worried about not getting out before the gate closed. Wakely asked me if I had my phone( which I always have) but this time I left it in the car. Wakely gave me his with his flashlight on and was also working to pull the ring he had placed in a baggie in his pocket. Holding on to a tree to sturdy himself, he then got down on his one knee and, after a few words, asked if I would Marry Him! Obviously my first response was, "oh no" before I fully realized what was happing was real before then quickly following up the initial response with a huge resounding YES!!!
