We met on eHarmony and had our first date on August 28, 2016 at the Cap City Diner in Columbus. Our second date was the next week. We’ve been together ever since. George tells Gayle she is the most beautiful girl he has ever met, and he is glad she is gullible enough to love him. It’s been an eventful relationship. In between our first and second dates George moved his law office. So far we have traveled to Jamaica four times and Europe once; took our Moms to Jamaica; took Beatrice, Alexis, and Camryn to Jamaica; went to Hawaii with Beatrice and Alexis; endured a campaign for State Representative; survived the loss of Gayle’s job and felt the relief she got another one without missing a paycheck; saw George make Bill his law partner; traveled three times to visit Darriel, Allison and Monty in Connecticut; visited Lake Erie with Alexis, Kiefer, and Beatrice; had the thrill of Beatrice earning her MA in Screenwriting and Alexis getting her BA in Art History; sold four properties; moved Gayle from Columbus to Tipp City (thanks Pam and Jerry!); moved Alexis three times in college and once to Nashville; sent Alexis to Italy and saw Covid 19 whisk her back home again too suddenly; experienced Seattle (thanks Shelby!) and Nashville (thanks Randy and Onie!); became close to each other’s family and friends; dreamed of our lives together; and set our retirement date. Now we have the icing on the cake: Exactly five years after we met, we celebrate our love with a wedding and share it with our closest family and friends.
