As we will be staying in Girona, the perfect airport to depart from is Bournemouth. Flights are direct, daily from/to Bournemouth-Girona & 2hrs in duration. Transfers from the City airport to the City are roughly 15 minutes. There is also a Eurocar hire opposite the airport, should you wish to hire a car. There are hourly trains going direct to Barcelona from Girona City centre, and due to accommodation price being triple, we are recommending everybody stays in Girona, given the travel time to the castle is no different from Barcelona.
