Tim and I met at the 8th grade dance when we were in middle school. However, it wasn’t until our freshman year of high school that we became close friends. I had a big crush on Tim throughout high school, but the timing was never right for us back then. After graduating high school we lost touch until I moved back to Houston for graduate school and we reconnected. When tasked with a class project, I had to attend an event in Houston and couldn’t find anyone to go with me. I ended up asking Tim and even though it was out of his comfort zone he agreed to go. That was when I first knew that Tim really cared about me. It wasn’t long after that when we made our relationship official.
Tim picked me up at the airport and I had dealt with flight delays for most of the day. I got home and immediately greeted my dog Lola. Tim had bought me Torchy’s Tacos and he kept running around the house seeming anxious as I sat on the couch. Then, I saw our message board on the mantle with the question “will you marry me?” on it. He had placed yes and no options on the coffee table. I turned around shocked and he was holding out a ring. He asked if I would marry him and I said of course!
