How We Met

Love at First Swipe

Even though we were living in the same city for years, our paths never crossed until the Bumble algorithm brought us together as a match. On our first date at Ashely's in Ann Arbor, Evan didn't think the date was going well at first as I kept my "poker face" on, however by the time we were ordering our second drink, I relaxed and smiled more, which Evan fell in love with and I was texting my friend, Chharitha, that I was going to marry this guy.

Dating

The Opposite of Long-Distance

Unbeknowst to us, we ended up living in the exact same apartment complex & building within 2 months of dating due to Evan and his roommate signing a lease agreement at the same apartment where I lived with my roommate. When I found out he would be moving into the same apartment complex as me and newly dating, Evan said "well, we don't have to make this awkward if it doesn't work out", which luckily it did! Fast forward through 3+ years of dating, dinner dates, trips and vacations, exercising our renovation skills to remodel rentals, buying our own house, and most importantly, falling in love with each other (as well as me falling in love with Evan's former dog, Gunner, who is now mostly my dog) :)

The Proposal

The Surprise of a Lifetime

While visiting our friends Sarah and Wright in Florida, I thought this would be a relaxing and low-key vacation. Boy, was I wrong. Instead, my friends, her parents, and Evan were all planning the most fantastic weekend of my life. Around day 3 of 5 of our vacation, Sarah told us that she wanted to take us to The Pier in downtown St. Petersburg. When we got there, we parked under a large whimsical tree which I immediately said looked like the Whomping Willow (from Harry Potter). Little did I know that in under an hour, that would be the exact spot that Evan popped the question under the guise of him wanting to take a selfie with me, but instead of his phone, he pulled out a ring! Easiest yes ever.
