SDQ is the closest and most convenient airport to Santo Domingo, just 20-30 minutes east of the city. Flights here tend to be cheapest. If you're flying in just before the wedding, this will be the best airport to use.

PUJ is situated about 2 hours east of Santo Domingo. However, if you're planning on visiting Punta Cana before or after the wedding for some beach time and R&R, this would be the best airport to use.

We recommend you get a temporary mobile plan so you can use your mobile phone when out and about during your stay. You can buy a SIM card with a temporary plan at the Santo Domingo (SDQ) airport. At SDQ, you can find a Claro and an Altice store. The stores are located after you go through customs. Both operators sell prepaid sim cards for the Dominican Republic for tourists. The sim card shops at SDQ are open from 08.00 am to 08.00 pm. In case you didn’t get a chance to buy a SIM card at SDQ, there are Altice, Claro and Viva stores throughout the city, usually in the big malls. As of June 12, 2022, Covid tests before returning to the Untied States ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED. Yay! If you would still like to take a Covid test before returning to the US, we highly recommend visiting a Referencia Laboratorio Clínico location. The antigen test is one of the cheapest at around $30 USD and delivers results within 3 hours. Walk-ins are welcome. There are countless lab locations all over the DR. This link will take you to their locations page. Make sure to take your passport with you to the test.
