Things To Do

Chicago has so many fun things to do that we could list ideas for days! If it's your first time visiting and you'd like help with plans, or if you are a seasoned vet but would like to know some of our favorite local spots, just give a shout! Below are a few must do's to get you started!

Architecture Boat Cruise

An architecture boat tour is one of the best way to see the city! There are many companies that offer boat tours, a popular favorite is linked here. Tickets should be purchased in advance, as this is a very popular activity, especially in July!

Chicago Riverwalk

Take a stroll along the Chicago Riverwalk, a pedestrian walkway below street level, to check out a cool vantage point of Chicago's bridges and architecture. Several restaurants are located along the river as well, stop for a drink and bite outside.

Millennium Park

A trip to Chicago is not complete without an obligatory photo with The Bean! (Cloud Gate) Millennium Park is also home to Crown Fountain and the Frank Gehry Amphitheater.

Cindy's Rooftop

Located in the Chicago Athletic Foundation Hotel, directly across the street from Millennium Park, Cindy's is a rooftop bar with an excellent view of the park and Lake Michigan. Great place to grab a drink!

Art Institute Chicago

For all you art lovers, Art Institute Chicago is home to the most impressive art collections in the city! The Modern Wing is accessible from a catwalk bridge from Millennium Park, but don't miss the famous lions at the main front entrance on Michigan Ave.

Signature Room

Located on the 96th floor of the Hancock Tower, Signature Room is a cocktail lounge that has gorgeous 360 views of the city! The lines can be long as its a touristy spot, but the views can't be beat. Pro tip, best views are actually from the women's restroom!

Food tour

There is no shortage of amazing restaurants in this foodie town! Too many to list, we suggest blogs such as Eater or Infatuation for ideas. Can't go wrong with Restaurant Row & Fulton Market in the West Loop for hip foodie spots. Or, if you want iconic, classic Chicago, go for deep dish pizza, Portillo's Italian Beef or Chicago style hot dog, and Garret Popcorn.
