“Gavin I just found your future wife” Gavin’s father (George) jokingly said to Gavin on a phone call back in 2011. Over the next several years they would bump into each other occasionally in Florida, Charleston and Chicago and think nothing of it. It wasn’t until Memorial Day weekend of 2017 that the stars began to align. They hit it off that holiday, and as a result Caroline and Gavin started dating long-distance that summer. Over the course of the next 6 months, Gavin would visit Caroline in Chicago, and Caroline got a taste of Cleveland. Their Cleveland visits consisted of weekends on Lake Erie zipping around on the boat, hot wings from Around the Corner, fishing, and taking Gavin’s dog, Duke, along for the ride with all these adventures. Chicago visits were fun, too. But Gavin used those weekends attempting to convince Caroline that Cleveland was much better than Chicago. Congrats, Gavin. You convinced her. While Caroline was applying to jobs in the Cleveland area, Gavin was busy finding the perfect engagement ring and planning when, and how he was going to ask Caroline to marry him. When Caroline landed a job in Cleveland that was set to begin in January, they were both ecstatic. By this point, Gavin’s plan was set in motion. It came to light that one of Caroline’s biggest pet peeves was New Year’s Eve engagements...what better way to catch her completely off guard…. On the evening of New Years Eve, the two were back together in Key Largo and as they went on their nightly harbor cruise, Gavin got down on one knee and asked Caroline to marry him. So, their story begins. In the beautiful city of Charleston, Gavin and Caroline will become together as one in January of 2019. Although that phone call George made to Gavin seemed funny years ago, God has an incredible sense of humor, and a unique way of weaving stories together into a masterpiece like this one.
