We met on Bumble, a popular dating app where the girl has to make the first move. Gavin had written that he liked the TV show The Office in his profile, so Kelly reached out with a Michael Scott quote. Gavin caught on and knew this was a special girl. He asked her on a date to Honeymoon Cafe in downtown Houston. The rest is history!

For our two-year dating anniversary, we wanted to go back to the cafe where we had our first date (it's Boomtown Coffee now, but it was Honeymoon Cafe when we met). We took the train into town, where I started noticing Gavin was NER-VOUS. We got to Boomtown and I saw that he had reserved a table for us, and I also noticed that he paid $40 for just lattes and a couple of macarons, but I just assumed I was just bad at mental math : ) We sat down at our reserved table, and the barista soon brought out our lattes in mugs with the Honeymoon logo instead of Boomtown--Gavin had them made by a talented designer we know. Then he said he had one more surprise, took out a ring, and then I cried for a thousand years and said yes! Little did I know he had one more surprise-- my friends waiting to celebrate with me at a bar around the corner. Then we went on to the latest and most delicious dinner of our lives at Nancy's Hustle. Completely perfect night.
