Gaye Holud or Haldi (in Hindi) is a ceremony where Turmeric (Haldi) is applied to the skin of the bride. This symbolizes close female friends and family wishing the bride well on her journey to get pretty for the deserving Groom. A shower later, everyone gathers for a prayer ceremony called Nandi Mukh, where led by a Hindu priest or pandit, we will offer our respect to the ancestors who have passed in both families.
