Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox at Turner Field. The Gault clan and Heape fam made their way to Atlanta, GA together to watch the "house divided" baseball game. From the moment we laid eyes on each other walking up to Turner Field, there was an undeniable connection. So much so that after the game RJ's mom warned "she's too old for you RJ, don't go there..." meanwhile, my mom playfully said "wow Emily, that RJ sure is a cutie huh??" While nothing more than friendship blossomed over the next few years, God's timing is perfect and this was the very beginning of our beautiful love story.

RJ planned the perfect surprise! With some of his closest family and friends in tow, we took a boat ride up the Beaufort River to his parents' house on Factory Creek. As we got closer, he told us there was a surprise waiting at the dock for me and his cousin and we needed to be blind folded... We both put on blind folds (or so I thought - she took hers off as soon as my eyes were covered) and held hands in anticipation while friends commented how cool this surprise was going to be and how lucky we were. When we docked, still blind folded, RJ helped me off the boat and wrapped me in a hug while our song "made for you" was playing in the background. He asked me if I knew how much he loved me, and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and my kids before telling me to take the blind fold off. I looked down to see him on one knee with a ring in his hand and even more of our closest family and friends surrounding us on the dock and pier head! I shouted "YES" and were engaged. We are so excited to share this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Beaufort!
