The story of how Tony and Stevie met actually goes all the way back to the summer of '08. Tony played on the Hereford travel baseball team with Stevie's brother. When Stevie first saw Tony step onto the pitcher's mound, she immediately KNEW the definition of tall, dark, and handsome was coined after him! One year later, Tony and Stevie ended up being in the same Sunday School confirmation class. Both of them had a strong relationship with Jesus. Stevie's mom was the one who encouraged her to reach out to Tony in 2012. On January 6th, 2012 Stevie messaged Tony on Facebook. This is where it all began 🙂 On their first date, Tony picks Stevie up on a Friday night from her part-time job at Greetings & Readings in Hunt Valley. It was after 10 PM so nothing was open. They spent their first date driving around town. This was the moment where Stevie knew he was the one. Their third date is when it became official. Tony asked Stevie to be his girlfriend in the back of the Hunt Valley movie theater during Mission Impossible 3: Ghost Protocol. Stevie remembers that moment, but not a single thing about the movie. They went to the Ring dance at Loyola Blakefield and to the Hereford junior prom together. After high school, Tony went to East Carolina University and Stevie went to Salisbury University. Stevie became a Broadcast Meteorologist, which took her career to New York. Tony majored in Neuroscience and tests spices at McCormick. God brought Stevie back to Maryland to be with Tony. Stevie moved back home in 2020 for her dream job and ended up with her dream man…the rest is history!
It was a cloudy and rainy day. Tony and Stevie went to mass at Our Lady of Grace Church. This was the church where Stevie and Tony had Sunday School class together. After mass ended, Tony asked Stevie if she would walk with him outside to the playground. This was always their favorite hangout spot! Even though it was raining, Stevie agreed to go with him. Tony held Stevie's hand as they walked across the parking lot. When they reached the top of the hill, Stevie saw a green blanket on the ground with MARRY ME signs and a beautiful bouquet of roses. Stevie instantly said “OMG...it's happening” (like in the movie Bridesmaids) as they walk closer to the setup. Tony nervously gets down on one knee and both of them immediately start crying. After Stevie said "YES!" her parents and best friend pop out from their hiding places to congratulate them. This will forever be Tony and Stevie's favorite place.
