FAQs

Here are a few questions we figured you might want the answers to. If you have additional questions or concerns, please email us at SSGatlinWedding2021@gmail.com
Question

How are you taking the COVID-19 pandemic into consideration as you plan?

Answer

With the news of multiple vaccines available and the progress being made both in New York and around the country, we are hopeful that current plans for herd immunity to be reached by mid summer becomes a reality. We are also closely monitoring CDC & New York State Health Guidelines for large indoor gatherings (which are currently at a decent level), and working with our venue along the way. We will keep you posted as we plan. Time will tell, but we are prayerful.

Question

Will you require people to be vaccinated in order to attend the wedding?

Answer

We have been in touch with our venue, and currently we don't expect this to be a requirement. While the vaccine progress news is encouraging, we strongly believe that the decision to get vaccinated--or not--is an individual's choice based on advice from their doctor. Right now, it is not a requirement. If things change, we will keep everyone updated!

Question

Will you require masks?

Answer

TBD! It will likely depend on where both the positivity rates and level of vaccinations are in New York State / on Long Island. Hopefully COVID is behind us so we can see everyone's beautiful face!

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

If you can't make it, please simply RSVP "NO." If you RSVP yes, and your plans change, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make rearrangements on our end. Gifts are still welcomed :)

Question

While trying to RSVP, I could not add a plus one - can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, not everyone was afforded a plus one given our guest list; we would still love for you to join us though.

Question

Can I bring my children to the wedding?

Answer

While we love your little ones, no children are invited to the wedding. We would love our guest to fully enjoy themselves and be free of responsibilities for the night. Only the children participating in the wedding will be at the wedding.

Question

Do we have to stay at the hotel suggested?

Answer

No, it is not required, but suggested for your convenience. If you choose not to stay at a hotel on the evening of the wedding/reception (Sunday night), please be responsible and drive safely!

Question

I tried to book a room, but none were available?

Answer

Rooms are on a first-come, first-served basis. We will try to work with hotel to increase the rooms in our block as needed.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes, please post pictures - our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #GatlinEverAfter2021, so we can keep track of all of your pictures! Additionally, please do not go "live" on any social media at any point during the festivities.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code? Is there a theme?

Answer

The dress code is formal - be prepared to put on your Sunday's Best! Examples of acceptable attire include: cocktail dresses; formal gowns; suit, tie & shoes; (no sneakers, tennis shoes, or boots).

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place? Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are both taking place at the Chateau Briand - please adhere to the timing laid out on the schedule. Currently, weather permitting, the ceremony will be outdoors while the reception will take place in doors.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

It will be early fall, so we expect temperatures in the range of 60-65 degrees Fahrenheit

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

The wedding venue provides Valet Parking; the Holiday Inn also has parking (reminder: it is right next door).

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

The wedding is being catered by the venue, and they will have a variety of food options to accommodate different dietary options
