FAQs

Question

When is the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 18th, 2021. We appreciate your patience as we have had to reschedule multiple times due to the current pandemic.

Question

Is the recent rise of the Delta variant affecting plans for the big day?

Answer

On August 23, the State of Washington has amended Order 20-03 requiring face masks for everyone over five years of age in most public indoor settings regardless of vaccination status. With that in mind, Ashley and Colin would like to share a couple of updates on their wedding day plans: - Our wedding ceremony is still planned to take place, indoors, at Blessed Sacrament Church. Those not directly participating in the wedding mass (bride, groom, bridal party, parents of the bride and groom) will need to wear face coverings during the ceremony. - Our reception is also still at Seattle Tennis Club, but has been moved outdoors on the lawn so that guests may celebrate for the remainder of the evening unmasked if they wish. Please plan your wardrobe accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation as we navigate the bumps and turns of hosting a COVID-era wedding!

Question

Has COVID-19 affected Ashley and Colin's wedding plans?

Answer

Unfortunately, the current pandemic disrupted our original plans to get married on October 3, 2020. We had initially postponed our wedding to June 19, 2021, but in hopes of accommodating all of our guests safely and comfortably, we have decided to postpone our big day *a second time* to SEPTEMBER 18, 2021. Please review the other sections of the wedding website for more details. We hope that you are still able to join us on our new date, and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this adjustment.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP using the RSVP tab on our wedding website no later than August 15th, 2021. Responses sooner than this date are greatly appreciated. Please contact us if you need more time.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to limited space at our venue, please refer to your invitation. If you have any questions, feel welcome to reach out to the bride, groom, or their families.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! We are registered at Zola for cash funds and at Wayfair for more traditional home and newly-wed gifts! See the Registry page of this website for more info. Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi formal attire appropriate for summer-fall weather. Weather permitting, cocktail hour will be served outdoors.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 2:00pm. Please allow yourself time to park, say your hellos, and be seated before this time.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking is available at both Blessed Sacrament Church and Seattle Tennis Club though space is limited. Please allow time to street park if necessary.

Question

Is there anything I need to know about a Catholic wedding? What if I’m not Catholic?

Answer

Catholic weddings are considered a sacrament of the religion and are celebrated with a full Catholic mass. When to stand and when to sit will be made apparent. If you do not feel comfortable kneeling during times of prayer, you may opt to sit. Feel welcome to participate in song and responses. At the time of Holy Communion we ask that only those who have gone through the sacrament of First Holy Communion receive the Eucharist (wafer and wine). If you would like to come forward for a blessing, regardless of your denomination, please denote so by folding your hands across your chest to your shoulders. If you prefer to wait in the pew while others receive communion and blessings this is acceptable as well. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Dinner will be served buffet style. If you have any concerns, please let us know and we will look into what we can do to accommodate your request or, at the very least, inform you of possible allergen exposures.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

As avid college football fans we are looking into what can be done to show the University of Washington vs. Arkansas State football game at the reception. Go Dawgs! And for those of Colin's friends in attendance who are crazy enough to be Duke Football fans, don't worry, we didn't forget about you either - we will see if we can get the Duke vs. Northwestern game showing at the reception as well.
