We met at a bar - the most classic (and questionable) place for love stories to begin. I was there with my best friend, and Doug stood a few steps ahead of me, towering over the crowd like he owned the place. Making my way through the chaos, I tapped him on the shoulder. In that moment, it felt like a scene straight out of a rom-com. With all the confidence liquid courage could muster, my opening line was, “You are one sexy human being.” (Spoiler: it worked.)
